Petit Stade to host volleyball Liberation Day tourney


For the first time in two years, Petit Stade indoor facility is set to resume hosting competitions, starting with the 2024 Liberation Day volleyball tournament slated for July 26.

The indoor stadium has been undergoing a facelift since 2022 as part of extensive renovation works on Amahoro Stadium.

The facility is now fitted with quality seats and the height of its roof was extended, and a better playing surface was installed. It now has the capacity to accommodate 1,000 spectators.

The liberation tournament will take place from July 26-28, bringing together 12 teams – four in each of men’s and women’s categories.

Police, Kepler, APR and Rwanda Energy Group (REG) will be contesting for men’s trophy while APR, Ruhango, RRA, Police and are vying for the silverware in women category.

Holders APR (men) and Police (women) will be looking to defend the trophies they won in 2023.
